Understanding the New Visa and Document Upload Rules in the UAE

Dubai immigration has introduced a requirement that passport external cover page (The front cover of your passport showing the emblem) must be uploaded, in addition to the bio-data page (with your photo and details) in visa applications.

All nationalities and all types of visas are reportedly affected (tourist visas, business visas, transit visas, multi-entry visas etc.).

Applications are now being held or delayed if this cover page isn’t included.

Other related/document requirements

There are added/documented requirements for hotel booking and return flight tickets for certain visa categories.

The passport must usually be valid for a minimum period (often at least 6 months).

To improve verification / authenticity of submissions, reduce fraud.

To reduce processing delays caused by incomplete or improper document uploads
